Services not offered at QuickMD

Some conditions, medications, and services can’t be provided safely through telemedicine. Here’s what’s outside of QuickMD’s telemedicine care and what we can help you with instead.

What we don’t treat

The categories below outline what QuickMD can and can’t provide through telemedicine.

What we can provide via telemedicine

  • Opioid addiction treatment

Treatment for opioid addiction with same-day or next-day virtual care, including Suboxone® (buprenorphine-naloxone) when appropriate.

  • Kratom & 7-OH addiction treatment

Treatment for kratom and 7-OH dependence and withdrawal, including Suboxone® (buprenorphine-naloxone) and clonidine when appropriate.

  • Weight loss

GLP-1 weight loss treatment, including Mounjaro® and Ozempic®, with same-day prescriptions when appropriate.

  • Hormone therapy

Women’s health care for menopausal symptoms, including testosterone and estradiol treatment when appropriate.

  • Urgent care

Virtual care for UTIs, sinus infections, flu, sore throat, and other non-emergency illnesses.

  • Mental health care

Treatment for mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and sleep issues, with medication support when appropriate.

What we can’t provide via telemedicine

  • Medical & surgical emergencies

Chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe injury, altered consciousness, or any life-threatening situation.

  • Narcotics & opioid painkillers

We do not prescribe narcotics, opioid pain medications, or other high risk medications.

  • Benzodiazepines & barbiturates

Xanax, Valium, Klonopin, and similar sedative medications require in-person monitoring.

  • Specialty, transplant, & cardiac medications

Medications requiring close lab monitoring or specialist oversight, including biologics, can’t be safely provided online.

  • Disability & workers’ comp forms

These require in-person physical examination and specialist documentation we can’t verify online.

  • Vaccine & mask exemptions

We don’t complete forms exempting patients from vaccines or mask-wearing requirements.

Treatment

We do not prescribe controlled substances, with limited exceptions

We don’t prescribe controlled substances, with two exceptions: buprenorphine-naloxone (Suboxone®) for opioid use disorder and kratom and 7-OH dependence, and testosterone cream for hormone therapy. Both are prescribed only when medically appropriate after evaluation by a licensed clinician.
Prescriptions

We do not prescribe narcotics, painkillers or other high-risk medications

This includes barbiturates, benzodiazepines, products containing marijuana, medications for acute heart problems, transplant medications, and biologics. We only prescribe medications that are medically necessary and appropriate for your diagnosis.
Documentation

We do not write certain doctor’s notes or exemption forms

We can’t complete disability forms, workers’ compensation forms, or vaccine or mask exemptions because they require in-person exams or specialist documentation. We can provide work and school notes, return-to-work notes, and health clearance notes when medically appropriate.
